American psychologist Kevin Gilliland* shares his little secrets for spicing up our lives. Let’s hear it!
Let go: How often do you dwell on the past? Kevin tells us not to get hung up on our bad moments. The trick? Have the miniscule memory of a goldfish! When a negative thought pops up, chase it away and refocus.
Be real with yourself: do you tend to focus on the bad times? Don’t forget the good times! Reach out to your friends to reminisce about those good times. And do the same for them. It’s a win-win!
The trifecta: Eat, Move, Sleep: Kevin has a simple rule: “Food is fuel, moving is medicine, sleep is power.” So check your plate, be In The Move and have sweet dreams. Maybe that’s all you need to start feeling positive about life.
In short, it’s simple, but not always easy. So, even if at times it may seem complicated, remember that there’s always hope. According to Kevin: “Happiness must be protected and nurtured every day.”
Hang in there, happiness is right there within reach. And after all, we’re in this together!
See you soon for more positive vibes!
