Viva Portugal e suas delícias. Indulge your sweet tooth by making Pasteis de Nata, delicious and tasty little flans straight from Lisbon!
For 10 to 12 pasteis de Nata, you will need:
- 250 g puff pastry
- 1/2 liter of milk
- 6 egg yolks
- 40 g of flour
- 180 g of sugar
- 1 piece of butter
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 12 pasteis de Nata molds
Instructions:
For the crust:
- Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Brush it with butter and roll it into a sausage shape.
- Cut out 12 pieces of about 1.5 cm high and flatten them between your fingers.
- Place the dough circles in the buttered molds.
For the filling:
- Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the sugar, then when cold, dilute the flour.
- Add the cinnamon stick.
- Heat the mixture, stirring until thick and creamy.
- Let the mixture cool, then whisk in the egg yolks.
To finish up ☺
- Fill the molds with the cream mixture
- Bake at 200° for 15 to 20 minutes
- Remove from the molds and let them cool for 10 minutes before serving them warm, sprinkled with cinnamon.
