This training program is a hit with Hollywood stars who want to sculpt their bodies. From celebrities to fitness freaks, this method rocks. But what makes 3-3-3 so special?
Is the 3-3-3 method for everyone?
It’s quite intense, so it’s best suited to experienced athletes and those who like a challenge. If you want to improve your overall fitness without causing yourself injury, you can adjust the intensity or frequency of the circuits. Start with 3-3-1, then move on to 3-3-2 before tackling 3-3-3 in warrior mode.
Warning, this method is not for beginners! If you’ve just got off the couch, it’s best to build up a solid base of endurance and muscles before you start these sessions.
How does 3-3-3 work?
First, warm up properly to prepare your muscles for the effort ahead, so that you don’t end up crumbling from the start. Once you’ve warmed up, here are the key steps:
First circuit - repeat 3 times:
- 20 squats: go down and back up, working your quads and glutes.
- 8 reverse lunges with knee drives (on each side): move your legs while working your glutes and core. Balance and coordination are a bonus!
- 8 jumps squats with half twists to strengthen your legs.
Second circuit - repeat 3 times:
- 12 push-ups: a classic for working out the whole upper body
- 8 three-legged dog twists (yoga position, on each side) to improve core strength and balance, while stretching your muscles. Classy, isn’t it?
- 8 single-leg crunches (on each side) for rock-hard abs. Switch legs and feel the burn!
Third circuit - repeat 3 times:
- 8 side lunges with hands raised (on each side): open your legs to the side, working your glutes, quads and adductors.
- 8 dips (using a chair or bench): work your triceps, pecs and shoulders to add style to your upper body.
- 8 reverse crunches: target your lower abs for a dream core. Balance and strength guaranteed!
This method works every major muscle and improves your strength, endurance, mobility and balance. Breathe deeply and take quick breaks between circuits to maximize results and avoid losing your motivation.
Repeat each circuit three times and turn yourself into a war machine!
