Stroll. Walking tour of Lisbon

06 Nov

A day spent touring Lisbon on foot is a melody of sensations. Every street corner holds a surprise, every pavement tells a story.

First stop, the belvedere:

Start from the miradouro de Santa Luzia, where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the red-tiled roofs and sparkling Tagus River. Take a deep breath, smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers in the surrounding gardens and get ready to immerse yourself in Lisbon’s history.

Through the Bohemian soul:

Next, head for the Alfama district, the city’s oldest. Wander through its winding streets, listen to the melancholy fado wafting from a little house and admire the displays of local handicrafts.

Gourmet break:

After so much wandering, treat yourself to a “Bacalhau à Brás” (typical cod dish) in a small traditional “tascas”. A moment of pure delight for your taste buds!

Chill out with some music:

If you’re lucky, you may come across a group of musicians playing fado in an alleyway or small square. Let yourself be carried away by these soft, poignant melodies.

Shopping and souvenirs:

End your stroll at the Ribeira market or in the handicraft stores of Bairro Alto. Between hand-painted azulejos, bottles of Ginjinha and traditional jewelry, you’re sure to leave with a little piece of Lisbon in your suitcase.

So, with your comfortable shoes on and a keen explorer’s soul, are you ready for this “In the Move” getaway?
